Reporter Natasha Del Toro and award-winning Danish photographer Joakim Eskildsen went on an assignment last summer for TIME Magazine. They traveled to California, South Dakota, Louisiana and New York to document the lives of the people the unemployed, the homeless and the poor.
They collected hundreds of photos and personal stories of people struggling to make ends meet and the resulting photo essay for TIME.com received such and overwhelming response from readers that the Del Toro and Eskildsen decided to produce a multimedia website, expanding the scope of the work.
You can experience some of the stories on the duo’s Kickstarter page and while you are there you can donate to support the continued expansion of this compelling project.
